Network Member

Network Members are those organisations working in the Caucasus region that share the same values and approaches to mountain region development such as scientific-based decision making, balanced regional development, knowledge-based but innovative solutions, environmental protection and awareness of the importance of tangible and intangible cultural heritage. These organisations channel the interests of the Sustainable Caucasus network. In return, Sustainable Caucasus represents the interests of its members and relies on them while working in particular countries or on relevant areas of competence.

 

GEORISK Scientific Research CJSC is a company registered in Armenia in 1998 specialising in independent professional consultations and research in the fields of geology, remote sensing and assessment of natural hazards and their environmental impacts. GEORISK applies the experience of its staff accumulated during the years of active scientific research in the USSR that has since been further enriched by new knowledge acquired in European universities and research centres.

 

The Azerbaijan Animals Protection Public Union (APPU) was founded 20 October 1992 to increase the spirit of mercy to animals and make people aware of animal welfare, irrespective of species. APPU aims to promote animal protection, prevent cruelty to animals, and enhance efforts in biodiversity conservation and humane education programmes and to encourage law-making and enforcement structures for biodiversity protection. APPU is also working on projects and initiatives related to agricultural and gastronomic tourism, as well as sustainable rural development. APPU promotes Slow Food in Azerbaijan and regularly participates in fairs and fora to promote Azerbaijani products and gastronomy at the global level. APPU has significant experience in implementing various projects, including ones supported by the EU such as the COVCHEG project.
